Recap: Jan 2005 Seattle Plone Gathering
The meeting started off with brief introductions about what folks are doing or interested in doing with Plone. It was a great mix of technology enthusiasts, independent web consultants, nonprofit technology implementers, university staff and faculty, and IT staff at local corporations.
After the introductions, Andrew and Brian kicked off the meeting with a case study to the BCFacts.org website. Given the spectrum of experience with Plone, we briefly introduced the Plone Management Interface, customizing the site with ploneCustom.css and Base Properties, adding existing products to a site, custom content types with Archtypes, and TAL.
The official meeting ended and a lot of folks stayed around to chat and expressed interest in continuing to meet.
Meeting Agenda for Feb 22nd, 2005 Meeting:
After a very successful first-ever Seattle Plone users group was hosted at ONE/Northwest by Brian Gershon (RagingWeb.com) and Andrew Burkhalter (onenw.org), we wanted to invite those in and around the Seattle area to another gathering of those interested in Plone.
We're soliciting volunteers for talks ranging from 15-20 minutes and also feedback about the direction of the group in our very brief 6-question survey Ideas for talks can be found in the survey.
